Once upon a time, Christmas was not one day but twelve — twelve days of public revelry, twelve days of social chaos, twelve days of extended lounging, gift-giving and unbridled mirth. Are You Interested? The Twelve Days of Christmas is a site-specific performance escapade & gift exchange exploring this lost holiday tradition. Money will not change hands, but you must bring a gift (itemized below) for The Midnight Mission, a homeless shelter providing basic sustenance, recovery and educational training for the neediest denizens of Los Angeles. Limited edition, original small artworks created by twelve different artists to commemorate each day of Christmas, will be available to the first 200 attendees, in exchange for the corresponding gift. Like the song, this event is cumulative, such that on the first night, only the first artwork is available, on the second night, both the first and second artworks will be available…on the twelfth night, all twelve artworks will be available, until the collection is exhausted.
